Chester Water system master plan
KVM completed a Water System Master Plan for the Municipality of the District of Chester with the goal of providing a central water system to the village core. Drinking water supply to the village has historically been provided by private drilled wells. In many cases, due to reduced well yields, homeowners must supplement their domestic water with cisterns, roof drainage and trucking.
KVM worked with the Municipality to define the serviceable boundary within the village core and the corresponding population base. Potential sites for a water treatment plant and storage reservoirs were identified and evaluated. The major system components were sized and an overall capital cost estimate was prepared. The findings were summarized in a report submitted to the Municipality.
